Australian shares fell for a 3rd session running Thursday, with miners and tech stocks leading losses.
The S&P/ASX 200 index closed 0.9% lower to close at 6,982.7. New Zealand’s benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index dropped 1.1% to finish at 12,428.12, extending losses into the 7th session running.
Japanese shares also fell Thursday, with the Nikkei average hitting a 4-month low.
The Nikkei dropped 2.49% to 27,448.01, and the broader TOPIX shed 1.54% to 1,849.04, touching a 3-month low.
China and Hong Kong stocks fell Thursday, after the former’s latest bank lending data missed forecasts.
The CSI300 index fell 0.8% to 5,003.72 at the end of the morning session, while the Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.7% to 3,437.14 and the Hang Seng index dropped 0.9% to 27,970.78, while the Hong Kong China Enterprises Index lost 1.2% to 10,434.23.
