The Week Ahead on Wall Street
$HD, $CSCO, $WMT, $LOW, $TGT
Earnings season winds down, just 20 members of the S&P 500 report to Wall Street this week.
Included are DJIA members Home Depot (NYSE:HD) Tuesday, Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) Wednesday and Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:WMT) Thursday.
Some other retailers will also report to Wall Street, including: Lowe’s (NYSE:LOW) and Target (NYSE:TGT) Wednesday.
The week’s 1st economic reports of note will be the August Empire State manufacturing survey and the August housing market index, which will be released Monday.
Tuesday features the July Consumer Price Index (CPI), July housing starts and building permits and July industrial production and manufacturing capacity.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will release the minutes from its July meeting Wednesday.
Thursday will feature the Philadelphia Federal Reserve’s business outlook survey for August.
This week 3 US Fed officials will make public speeches: Atlanta President Dennis Lockhart Tuesday, St. Louis President James Bullard Wednesday and San Francisco President John Williams Thursday.
From the Treasury
The US Treasury Department will auction $14-B of 5-year Treasury inflation-indexed securities (TIPS) Thursday.
