The Week Ahead on Wall Street


The US financial markets were closed Monday for Memorial Day.

This week only 3 members of the S&P 500 will report Q-1 earnings to Wall Street as this season is winding down, they are: Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) Tuesday, Michael Kors Holdings (NYSE:KORS) Wednesday and Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) on Thursday.

Economic Reports

The week’s 1st economic reports of note are: April personal income and outlays, the March S&P Case-Shiller Housing Index, the May Chicago PMI and the Conference Board’s May consumer confidence survey will be released Tuesday.

Wednesday features the May ADP Employment Report, the May PMI manufacturing index, the May ISM manufacturing index, April construction spending and the US Fed’s periodic Beige Book.

May jobs data, including the unemployment rate and the change in NFPs (nonfarm payrolls), April international trade, April factory orders and the May ISM non-manufacturing index will be released Friday.


Fed Speak

Only 2 Federal Reserve officials will make public appearances this week, they are: Federal Reserve Board Governor Jerome Powell Thursday and Chicago Fed President Charles Evans Friday.
