The Week Ahead on Wall Street
Q-4 earnings season picks up this week with 106 members of the S&P 500 scheduled to report to Wall Street. Included in this group are 12 DJIA components, as follows:
Monday: McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE:MCD)
Tuesday: 3M (NYSE:MMM), Du Pont (NYSE:DD), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), Travelers Companies (YSE:TRV) and Verizon Corp. (NYSE:VZ)
Wednesday: Boeing (NYSE:BA) and United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX)
Thursday: Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT), Intel Corp. (NYSE:INTC) and Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT)
Friday: Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX)
The week’s 1st economic reports will be the January purchasing managers’ manufacturing index flash and December existing home sales, both of which will be released Tuesday.
Thursday features December international trade and December new home sales.
Friday, December durable goods orders, the initial estimate of Q-4 GDP, and the University of Michigan’s final January consumer sentiment survey (MSI) will be released to Wall Street Friday.
US Treasury action
The US Treasury Department will auction $26-B of 2-yr T-Notes on Tuesday, $15-B of 2-year floating rate T-Notes and $34-B of 5-year T-Notes Wednesday and $28-B of 7-yr T-Notes Thursday.
