The Week Ahead on Wall Street


The US financial markets will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving.

The US stock exchanges will close early Friday, at 1:00p EST.

Q-3 earnings season continues to wind down with just 13 members of the S&P 500 scheduled to report to Wall Street this week.

Those companies include Tyson Foods (NYSE:TSN) Monday; Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB), Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE:HPE), Hormel Foods Corp (NYSE:HRL), HP (NYSE:HPQ) and Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) Tuesday; and Deere & Company (NYSE:DE) Wednesday.


Economic reports

The week’s 1st economic reports to Wall Street will be October existing home sales will be released Tuesday. Wednesday features October durable goods orders, the November PMI Manufacturing Index Flash, October new home sales, the University of Michigan’s revised November MSI (consumer sentiment) survey and the mins from the November FOMC. Weekly jobless claims data will also be released Wednesday, a day earlier than usual.


US Treasury action

The Treasury Department will auction $26-B of 2-year notes Monday; $13-B of 2-year floating rate notes and $34-B of traditional 5-year Notes Tuesday; and $28-B of 7-year Notes Wednesday.
