The Week Ahead on Wall Street
$IBM, $GS, $GE, $AXP, $MSFT
Earnings season will pick up this week as 11 members of the DJIA are scheduled to report: International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM) Monday
Goldman Sachs Group (NYSE:GS), Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) and UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) Tuesday
American Express Co. (NYSE:AXP) Wednesday;
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), Travelers Companies (TRV) and Verizon Communications (VZ) Thursday
General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE) and McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE:MCD) on Friday.
Joining them will be nearly 60 other members of the S&P 500.
The week’s 1st economic reports of note will be the October Empire State manufacturing survey and September industrial production, both released to Wall Street Monday.
Tuesday features the September Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the October housing market index.
September housing starts and building permits, along with the periodic Beige Book, will be released Wednesday.
Thursday will feature the Philadelphia Federal Reserve’s October business outlook survey and September existing home sales.
This week 3 US Fed officials will make public speaking appearances: Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer Monday, San Francisco President John Williams Wednesday and New York President William Dudley Thursday.
US Treasury Action
The Treasury Department will auction $12-M of 30-year inflation protected securities (TIPS) Thursday.
