Walmart Inc. (NYSE:WMT), -1.14% tries to bolster its online business

Walmart WMT, -1.14%  tries to bolster its online business, it is staring down steep U.S. e-commerce losses that could amount to $1 billion this year, according to analysts at Morgan Stanley. Part of the problem is that the company sells a heavy mix of consumable products online, while competitors have found success in e-commerce focusing on products such as makeup or sporting goods.

Though Walmart doesn’t break out earnings for its online efforts, the company’s attempts to more profitably conduct e-commerce business will once again be in focus during its Thursday morning call.
