Wall of Flames Scorch Hillsides in the Cahuenga Pass
Firefighters are on the scene near the 101 Fwy where a brush fire has broken out in the Hollywood Hills
A fast moving brush fire is burning above the Hollywood Hills, scorching 12-14 acres in about an hour, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Officials have not identified a cause for the Wall of Flames, but power lines are down in the area, according to Ms. Stewart.
With more than 100 firefighters on the scene and water drops from Lake Hollywood, crews largely contained the fire by 4:30p.
No evacuations were ordered, but some residents were advised to leave homes on Holly Drive, Ms. Stewart said.
The flames and billowing smoke near the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood brought traffic in the region to a crawl.
