US Stocks Outperforming the World’s Equity Markets

US stocks are outperforming the other major overseas stock indexes for the past 8 months.
The positive trend began when President Donald Trump started his “America First” campaign aimed at making free trade fairer trade with America’s major trading partners.
During this current leg of the Bull market American investors are investing in America and American stocks, suggests that the USD and US stocks are seen as the winners in a trade war.

Here are the YTD performances of the S&P 500/400/600 stock price indexes: 6.0%, 5.0%, and 13.4%
The Small Caps may be getting a bigger after-tax earnings boost from the Trump’s tax cuts than larger corporations.
Monday, the S&P 500 advanced 0.2%, closing higher for a 3rd session running. The benchmark index is now just 0.6% below its 26 January record high.
The DJIA rose 0.4% hitting its best mark since early February, and the NAS Comp added 0.1% on the day.
The is optimism ahead of resumed trade talks between the US and China that begin Wednesday, helped drive the Bullish bias on Wall Street and push overseas stocks up.
China’s Shanghai Composite rallied 1.1% Monday, rebounding off of 2-year lows, and Germany’s DAX led the way in Europe with a gainer of 1.0%.
The S&P sectors: 8 of 11 finished Monday in the Green, with consumer discretionary (+0.6%), industrials (+0.6%), energy (+0.7%), and materials (+0.7%) were the Top performers.
The Top-weighted IT (information technology) sector (-0.2%) under-performed, keeping the S&P 500 from marking an all time high.
