US Stocks Finish Flat to Unchanged on Light “Earth Day’ Volume


FLASH: S&P 500 held the 2900 mark at the close

President Trump commemorated Earth Day with a message that included nods to “historic economic and job growth,” but made no mention of climate change.

“Environmental protection and economic prosperity go hand in hand,” President Trump said in a statement issued Monday. “A strong market economy is essential to protecting our critical natural resources and fostering a legacy of conservation.”

My administration is committed to being effective stewards of our environment while encouraging opportunities for American workers and their families,” President Trump said.

Monday, with many overseas markets closed for Easter Monday, US stocks finished flat to unchanged on light volume with Bullish bias.

The major US stock market indexes finished at: DJIA -48.49 at 26511.05, NAS Comp +17.20 at 8015.25, S&P 500 +2.94 at 2907.97

Volume: Trade on the NYSE came in at 730-M/shares exchanged

  • Russell 2000 +15.7% YTD
  • DJIA +13.7% YTD
