US Markets Finish Higher on Trump Inauguration

Friday, US stocks edged higher in afternoon trading, on course to recoup most of the market’s losses from Thursday
The rebound came about as investors weighed Donald Trump’s swearing in as the 45th President of the United States and the latest company earnings reports.
Phone companies led the gainers, while healthcare stocks fell the most.

The major US stock indexes pulled back slightly as President Donald Trump delivered remarks after taking the oath of office and then took off North.
Stocks have slowed in Y 2017 after rising for several weeks following the election on investor optimism that a Trump Administration and Republican Congress would usher in business-friendly policies.
Since Y 1953, starting with President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Inauguration, the S&P 500 has risen an average of 1.6% in the 1st 100 days of a President’s 1st term in office, according to the data.
