However investors remain fixated on the U.S. and China, which are on a collision course to impose levies on each other’s products within the next 24 hours.
The FTSE 100 index UKX, +0.40% rose 0.4% to close at 7,603.22. The benchmark on Wednesday lost 0.3%.
