U.S. Steel Is Back From Trump’s Effect

Trump told the paper the issue was still on the table, and reiterated his view that dumping is “a very unfair situation.” But he said a final decision may have to wait until other stalled initiatives, including health-care reform and tax reform and even infrastructure, are completed.

The comments sent other steel stocks into a downward spiral. AK Steel Holding Corp. AKS, -7.96%  shares slid 8%, Nucor Corp. shares NUE, -4.60%  tumbled 4.6% and ArcelorMittal Mittal SA ADRs MT, -1.49%  closed down 1.5%.

Momentum Indicators

Momentum is a general term used to describe the speed at which prices move over a given time period. Generally, changes in momentum tend to lead to changes in prices. This expert shows the current values of four popular momentum indicators.

Stochastic Oscillator

One method of interpreting the Stochastic Oscillator is looking for overbought areas (above 80) and oversold areas (below 20). The Stochastic Oscillator is 66.6237. This is not an overbought or oversold reading. The last signal was a sell 7 period(s) ago.

The last signal was a buy 44 period(s) ago.

Commodity Channel Index (CCI)

The CCI shows overbought (above 100) and oversold (below -100) areas. The current value of the CCI is 233.This is an overbought reading. However, a signal isn’t generated until the indicator crosses below 100. The last signal was a sell 3 period(s) ago.

The Moving Average Convergence/Divergence indicator (MACD) gives signals when it crosses its 9 period signal line. The last signal was a buy 51 period(s) ago.
