Trump Team Planning Huge Government Spending Cuts
Donald Trump’s Administration staff is preparing to slash US government spending by $10.5-T over 10 years, and will start Friday, January 20th after his swearing in ceremony.
Plans include privatizing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS)and eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities.
At the Department of Justice (DOJ), cuts include eliminating the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, Violence Against Women Grants, and the Legal Services Corporation. It would reduce funding to the civil rights and environment and natural resources divisions.
At the State, funding for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the Paris Climate Change Agreement, and the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will possibly be eliminated.
The 2 Team members in charge are laying out the document about the priorities of the Trump Administration. The document is expected fast, and preliminary proposals will be shared with departments and agencies after President Trump takes office Friday,
Donald Trump vowed during the campaign that he would not cut Medicare and Social Security. Rep. Tom Price, his choice to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, said that pledge has not changed.
Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to address the budget immediately after he is confirmed.
The Trump Administration will reform and cut spending dramatically, and targeting waste like the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities is a good 1st step in showing that he is serious about radically reforming the federal budget, aka “Draining the Swamp”
