As President Trump lobbies for money for his promised border wall, he talks up other barricades.
He points to walls in Israel, at the Vatican, even at former President Barack Hussein Obama’s house.
On Wednesday, PresidentTrump declared at a Cabinet, “Walls work.”
He added: “There is a reason why politicians and wealthy people build walls around their houses and their compounds. President Obama recently built a wall around his compound.”
President Trump Tweeted that Mr. Hussein Obama’s wall was 10 ft high.
“When they say the wall is immoral, well then you better — got to do something about the Vatican, because the Vatican has the biggest wall of them all,” President Trump said.
President Trump and allies have repeatedly cited barriers in Israel as proof that walls are effective.
President Trump said this week he had recently spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding “In Israel, as you know, they built a wall. He said 99.9% it works. And it would with us too.”
With no end to the border fight in sight, President Trump is likely to keep up his wall commentary.
Thursday President Trump said: “You can call it a wall. You can call it a barrier. You can call it whatever you want.”
