Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model S Explodes in West Hollywood
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) claims it is looking into what caused actress Mary McCormack’s husband’s Model S’s lithium-ion battery to spontaneously catch fire in West Hollywood, California
The Tesla Model S when up in flames Friday.
She posted on Twitter: “Thank God my three little girls weren’t in the car.”
Ms. McCormack said the fire happened “Out of the Blue.”
No one was in the car or hurt.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to extinguish the blaze, in what Tesla called “an extraordinarily unusual occurrence.”
In a statement to a Tesla spokesperson wrote, “We offer our support to local authorities and are glad our customer is safe. This is an extraordinarily unusual occurrence, and we are investigating the incident to find out what happened.”
