New South Wales is the birthplace of thoroughbred racing in Australia. Since the first race in Hyde Park over 200 years ago, the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Industry has continued to thrive. NSW is the home of the world’s richest race for 2YOs – the Golden Slipper, the largest breeding ground in the Southern Hemisphere in the Hunter Valley, and employs more than 50,000 people and is a very important part of the team’s plans going forward.

The Country Highway Races that are only available to NSW Country Trainers will be one of the main advantages to being based with Terry Evans.

“The care and well being of our horses always comes first, we were very impressed with Terry and his facilities at Tuncurry, we are certain our horses will be well looked after and will enjoy the unique surroundings in Tuncurry” Issaree Suwunnavid CEO of Knightsbridge said.

The first horse to hit the track for the partnership will be Newton, a Horse Terry Evans found in New Zealand who is now in the stable and in work. An Al Maher yearling will be arriving with Terry Evans from Knightsbridge in January along with several other yearlings.

“Australia has a strong focus on 2yo racing and we will participating in that, but we love our middle distance and staying races, that will remain a large part of our business” John Heffernan of Knightsbridge UK said.

Terry Evans said “we have great confidence in the people we have working at the stable and there is no doubt that with the new horses coming in over the next 12 months we can compete at the very highest levels of racing.”
