Strzok’s JEH Like ‘Leak Strategy’ Likely Aimed at Damaging Donald Trump
Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz said disgraced and sacked 1-time FBI Agent Peter Strzok’s e-Mail citing a “leak strategy” was not meant as a way to curb agency leaks.
“It’s much more plausible that he was talking about a strategy designed to leak things selectively to the media to achieve the goal (Donald Trump’s election loss) he set up for himself,” Professor Dershowitz said in an interview Tuesday night on TV.
He said any claim to the contrary “just does not pass the giggle test.”
Mr. Strzok’s use of the term was revealed in texts exchanged between him and ex-FBI attorney Lisa Page.
Rep. Mark Meadows, (R-NC), in a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, pointed out 2 texts in particular where Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page discuss the agency’s “leak strategy.”
Professor Dershowitz maintained the disgraced and sacked former FBI Director James Comey “laundered” privileged information through a professor at Columbia University in order to leak it to the mainstream media.
And President Donald Trump echoed Professor Dershowitz’s comments on the leaking in a pair of Tweets Tuesday night.“You know who’s at fault for this more than anyone else, Comey, because he leaked information and laundered it through a professor at Columbia Law School. Shame on that professor, and shame on Comey. He snuck the information to a law professor who collaborated with him in……..
“….giving the information, and causing the appointment of a Special C without having the courage of his own convictions…..’Alan Dershowitz @TuckerCarlson In other words, the whole thing was illegally and very unfairly set up?”
Former Trump campaign aide Carter Page, embroiled in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and the latest news of a systemic “media leak strategy” employed by the Justice Department and the FBI, says “there’s no doubt whatsoever” some government officials are out to get President Donald Trump.
“It’s not about me – they’re just trying to get to The Trump Administration, the Trump campaign,” Page said in a TV interview Monday night. “This is just a way of tearing down all the great things that President Trump is doing.”
