Strong Thoroughbred Market in New York
The market strength evidenced earlier this week during The Saratoga Sale continued Saturday evening during the first session of The New York Bred Sale, which saw increases in average and median over last year’s sale.
Tonight’s session saw 93 yearlings change hands for a total of $8,155,000 good for an average of $87,688 and a median of $75,000, increases of 13.5% and 25% respectively, over last year’s totals. The RNA rate for the session was down 8.3% from last year’s overall RNA rate.
“We hit the trifecta again tonight from a sales perspective,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Average was up, median was up, RNA rate was down. I think we saw a continuation of the same trends as we saw in the select sale earlier in the week.”
