Singapore Turf Club: Friday Night Preview
Another exciting night of horse racing at Singapore Turf Clubs Kranji race track
RACE 1: CANADIAN FIVE PILLARS CUP CLASS 4 NON PREMIER – 1400M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 18:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$45000
Even though Stephen Gray is in Dubai with Bahana and Newlands, he should still take the first race with LITTLE MASTER (1) the horse surprised everyone at its first start in Singapore and has put in a couple of handy runs since, looks best. PARAGON STAR (4) Won last start after putting in a shocker, seems a little hit and miss but is a danger if he can reproduce latest form. SUN EMPIRE (5) looks like he has had his fair share of trouble having had a break after every start, super effort last time out and worth considering.

RACE 2: MANULIFE CUP RESTRICTED MAIDEN (2 AND 3 YEAR OLD) (WEIGHT FOR AGE) – 1200M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 19:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$85000
CROWN GIFT (1) suffered a bad draw and a wide run last time out but should be able to put in a strong effort tonight. HUN YEANG ROAD (3) has been consistent and couldimprove enough to be a danger here. BEAUTIFUL DAY (5) impressed in 1st start and looks like a horse that can do better, keep in mind.
RACE 3: SCOTIABANK CUP CLASS 4 PREMIER – 1400M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 19:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$60000
ZA’EEM (3) is the one to beat here, two starts for a one win and a second clearly he is the one to beat. HANGMAN (4) has been on a holiday since last June, trials show he is ready to be back to his best, keep safe. SUPER TYCOON (2) is also back from a break and expected to run well fresh.
RACE 4: CANCHAM CUP MAIDEN – 1400M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 20:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$20000
CLASSIC (1) has done everything but win a race and tonight he gets a chance but has a big weight to carry, will be there at the finish. MOUNT (3) another Stephen Gray trained horse steps up the the 1400 and based on his last rub that is exactly what he needs, the main danger. SORBETA (4) consistent and overdue for some luck.
RACE 5: AIR CANADA CUP CLASS 3 – 1200M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 20:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$80000
LIM’S RACER (4) from the Steven Burridge Stable hung on well last start to run 3rd (watch the race) has a lot less weight to carry tonight, is drawn wide but expect her to take an early lead, she will be in front in straight and should hang on. BE BEE (2) is the main danger, he is a very good horse and he will be doing his best work in the final stages of the race. MR HANKS (7) in a Group 3 winner as a 2yo and should not be dismissed.

RACE 6: CANADA CUP 2018 CLASS 2 – 1200M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 21:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$100000
Stephen Gray could be missing a big night in Singapore, AL GREEN (3) from the St George Stable the same owners as Newlands, another one of their runners looks a real chance in this race, produced a speedy run to win over 1000m and looks better suited to this 1200m race. NOVA MISSILE (5) is a pretty handy type and has not done much wrong lately expect a bold showing and continued improvement. DRACO (6) will appreciate the turf and has place claims.
RACE 7: HJM ASIA CUP CLASS 3 – 1600M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 21:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$80000
HERACLES (4) he has great talent and has only had 2 runs back from a spell, he should be value in this race and will be fit and ready, best EW bet of the night. SUPER POWER (3) is looking for 3 in row here and will figure in the finish. LIM’S REGARD (6) should be finishing like a freight train, keep safe.
RACE 8: MAPLE LEAF STAKES CLASS 4 NON PREMIER – 1000M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 22:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$45000
Well they didn’t save the best for last that is for sure, this is an average bunch and you are probably better off heading home early to beat the rush, if the compulsion grips you then TURF BEAUTY (3) is worth something each way, he has a win in Australia and has not started in Singapore so is yet to disappoint. SACRED GURU (2) fits in to the same category, a Kiwi imprt that has won and is first out time out here. I’ll throw DASH (7) in for third. WHISTLING WIN (5) from the Leticia Dragon Stable is also worth considering.
