Singapore Horse Racing: Friday Night Preview 19 Jan 2018
Big week coming for Singapore Horse Racing, for the first time in the annals of Singapore horse racing, race meetings will be held at Kranji on Tuesday night starting from 23 January, 2018!
Racegoers will thereafter be able to again attend such meetings – which will all be mixed turf and Polytrack meetings – on 24 April, 19 June, 25 September and 20 November.
Singapore Horse Racing is really taking off, if you would like the thrill of being an owner in Singapore contact Knightsbridge.
RACE 1: CLASS 4 NON PREMIER – 1200M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 18:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$45000
PEACH BOWL (4) should win this, he is 3rd up from a freshen up and his last run was a much improved effort.
OCEAN MASTER (5) was in pretty good form but his last start was a shocker, no surprise the connections decided to let him have a break, should be fit and ready, has claims.
THE DODGER (6) is down in class but drawn off the track, should be running on.
RACE 2: RESTRICTED MAIDEN (2 AND 3 YEAR OLD) (WEIGHT FOR AGE) – 1200M COURSE C (LC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 19:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$85000
CROWN GIFT (1) should start favourite and take the chocolates, couple of good runs and absolutely no luck last time.
WHAT’S NEW (9) is a speedy filly and has a chance in this, she has recorded some good times and will be in the finish.
SONNY BILL (8) to round out the minors.
RACE 3: CLASS 4 PREMIER – 1200M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 19:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$60000
PREFERRED (6) has the form on the board and this is his chance to win one, race fit and ready.
MASTER OF MALIBU (2) beaten by the very talented Be Bee and has claims, this is a weaker field and his trials have been good.
CHASE (1) gets the benefit of a drop in class and should be finishing well.
RACE 4: OPEN MAIDEN (WEIGHT FOR AGE) – 1400M COURSE C (LC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 20:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$20000
CLAUDIA’S BEAUTY (8) looks the class horse here, only 2 starts in Singapore but looks to be a horse for the future.
SORBETA (9) has made the switch to the Freedman stable and that might be all that’s needed to see some improvement.
MR HOPKINS (1) someone likes backing this one but they have not had much luck, can’t see him winning this but has a place chance.
RACE 5: KRANJI STAKES A (2) (SET WEIGHTS) – 1400M COURSE C (LC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 20:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$125000
IRON MAN (5) looks unstoppable, he has already won 3 in a row and looks set to make it 4.
BAHANA (1) Stephen Gray trained Behana will be finishing like a freight train but this looks a little short for him.
NOVA STRIKE (3) in pretty good form and has place claims.
RACE 6: CLASS 4 NON PREMIER – 1700M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 21:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$45000
HAPPY SAGA (5) will be value and is worth an eachway bet, solid form before coming to Singapore and may have taken some time to settle in, I would’nt bet the farmon him but he has a real chance.
RED RIDING WOOD (4) is doing all you can ask of a horse, win, and tonight he will be there in the finish once again, real danger.
PANACHE (1) shocker last time out, has a place hope on previous form.
RACE 7: KRANJI STAKES A (1) (SET WEIGHTS) – 1400M COURSE C (LC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 21:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$125000
ECLIPSE SPLASH (8) is a relatively new arrival but has taken to Singapore well, he keeps improving and looks the likely winner.
GILT COMPLEX (1) not suited by the distance but it is hard to discount a horse of this quality, he will finish hard and if they make any mistakes he will leave them in his dust.
FORTUNE WINNER (5) Singapore’s 1st lady is fresh of the back of a placing in Group company, has claims.
RACE 8: CLASS 3 – 1200M COURSE C (LC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 22:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$80000
KINGSMAN (3) done everything wrong last time out, hopefully connections have that sorted, if he jumps and is not ridden wide than he has a real chance.
I’VE GOT A FEELING (4) is a real danger, this horse can run and is consistently good, if Kingsman is off his game I’VE GOT A FEELING will beat him.
SCORPIO (7) keeps improving and will be thereabouts at the finish.
