Senate Dems Recognize the Power of President Trump in the Oval Office
Sunday, US Senator Joe Manchin (D:WV) ‘begged” President Donald Trump to work with Democrats on a new healthcare bill, saying let’s “meet in the middle.”
In a TV interview the West Virginia Democrat said he wants the/our/his President to succeed for all Americans.
“The only thing I’m saying to President Trump…He’s the president of all of America, Democrats and Republicans, independents, those who voted for him, those who voted against him, he is our president and I want him to succeed,” Senator Manchin said.
And, he added, “I want him to know there are Democrats that really want to work with him.”
“Look at some of us, work with us Democrats who are willing to meet you in the middle, who have always been willing to meet you in the middle.”
Senator Manchin pushed back on President Trump’s charge that Democrats are obstructionists.
“I truly respectfully disagree with that statement,” he said.
Have a terrific week.
