Sen. John McCain, Stricken with a Deadly Brain Tumor Holding Up Government

Tuesday, Senator John McCain, 81 anni, (R-AZ) said he is holding up President Donald Trump’s Pentagon nominees over lack of details on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“In the 6 weeks since the President made his announcement, this committee and the Congress, more broadly, still does not know many of the crucial details of this strategy. This is totally unacceptable. I repeat, this is totally unacceptable,” Sen. McCain said at the committee hearing.

2 of the Key nominations being held up include Army Secretary nominee Mark Esper and Robert Wilkie, President Trump’s pick for Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness.

President Trump announced a new Afghan strategy on 21 August that involves sending more than 3,000 additional US  troops as advisers to the Afghan military, and Sen. McCain told the media that he has not yet been briefed on what the 3,000 additional troops would be doing in Afghanistan.

“We will not accept a lack of information, a lack of strategy, a lack of coordination with this committee. And there are several methods, thanks to the Constitution, that we have to try to force a change in that relationship,” Sen. McCain told Secretary Mattis and General Dunford.

Senator McCain should be recalled forthwith, as his Swan Song should not be the operation of our government and the safety of our Nation.
