Ronald Reagan to be Inducted in US Labor Hall of Honor
Former President Ronald Reagan, once the leader of Hollywood’s Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) will be inducted into the US Labor Department’s Labor Hall of Honor.
US Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta made the announcement Thursday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley, California.
The honor is for Americans who improved working conditions, wages and quality of life for families.
Secretary Acosta noted that as President of SAG in the 1940’s and ’50’s, Ronald Reagan led the union through 3 strikes and negotiated health and pension benefits and residual payments for members.
