The White House’s Top economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Friday that President Trump and Chinese President Xi could meet on trade later this month or early next month.
“Nothing in cement, but there’s a lot of talk about a meeting, yet.”
President Trump Friday said he is confident the United States can forge a trade deal with China, but added that he thinks his country would do very well with or without an agreement with the world’s 2nd-largest economy.
Asked if he was still confident he could get a deal with China: “Sure, I am confident, but if we do not make a very good deal for our country, I would not make a deal,” President Trump said.
Asked about a report that China was not positive about a trade deal and that a meeting with President Xi might not happen, President Trump said “I have not heard that. I think we are doing well … We will do very well either way, with or without a deal.”
