President Trump’s approval rating has jumped 6 percentage pts in the last 2 wks, according to the latest Gallup poll.
49% approve of the President’s performance, compared with 47% who do not.
A big surge in President Trump’s approval numbers comes from Independents, with 47% saying they approve compared with 39% in the last survey.
About 50% of Americans approve of the President’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which is down from last month when 60% approved of how he dealt with the crisis.
President Trump also had a 49% approval rating in mid-March, according to Gallup, before his rating took a 6-pt dip in 1-H of April.
This bump in approval ratings for President Trump comes as the country is shifting to reopening most within the next few days in some places.
The Gallup poll is made up of 1,016 US adults who were interviewed by phone between 14-28 April. The margin of error is 4 percentage pts.
