President Trump: “Scott Pruitt Out”
Thursday, acing a mounting series of investigations into his behavior while in office, EPA administrator Scott Pruitt has resigned.
The news, which was announced by President Donald Trump on Twitter
“I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency,” President Trump announced in a Tweet.
“Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this. The Senate confirmed Deputy at EPA, Andrew Wheeler will assume duties as the acting Administrator of the EPA Monday. I have no doubt that Andy will continue on with our great and lasting EPA agenda. We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!”
Mr. Wheeler, who was confirmed in April to be deputy administrator at the EPA, will become acting administrator when Mr. Pruitt officially leaves.
