President Trump, “China, EU ‘Manipulating Currencies'”
President Donald Trump doubled down Friday morning on his plan to impose massive tariffs on China and the European Union, Tweeting that the United States should be on a “level playing field’’ with countries that have been “manipulating their currencies.”
Trump also zeroed in on Canada in a 3rd tweet, writing: “Farmers have been on a downward trend for 15 years. The price of soybeans has fallen 50% since 5 years before the Election. A big reason is bad (terrible) Trade Deals with other countries. They put on massive Tariffs and Barriers. Canada charges 275% on Dairy. Farmers will WIN!
Earlier, President Trump said he was willing to tax every product imported from China.
In a TV interview President Trump said, “I’m willing to go to 500,” referring to the $505.5-B in goods imported from China in 2017.
Have a terrific weekend.
