President Donald Trump’s Ferrari F430, The Sale of the Year
The Big Q: Will this be the Ferrari F430 “Sale of the Year”?
F430’s are not common and they are not cheap. And this example, being auctioned on 1 April 2017, by Auctions America at their Fort Lauderdale, Florida sale, was purchased and titled new in Y 2007 by our recently inaugurated 45th President, Donald J. Trump.
The Auctions America low pre-sale estimate is $250,000, which represents a roughly 30% premium over an average Ferrari F430. That expected premium is largely due to President Trump’s celebrity and to a lesser degree the car’s very low mileage.
This Ferrari was sold to a new owner in Y 2011, and the car will be auctioned along with a copy of its original title including President Trump’s Trump Tower, New York address and his distinctive, bold signature.
According to Auctions America, “President Trump owned the car for just over 4 years. It currently shows fewer than 6,000 miles on the odometer and is equipped with a 4.3-liter V-8 and semi-automatic F1 transmission.
This offering presents both car and Presidential history enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to own, drive and enjoy a Supercar once owned by a US President. As with many things about President Trump, no US President that I have know or know of was a Ferrari clienti.
It is a unique opportunity as most Presidential memorabilia does not have a horsepower rating, and to see a former or current President’s personal automobile offered for sale is extremely rare.
As with President Donald Trump’s larger-than-life persona, no US head of state ever owned a car that makes 490 hp.
So, I am watching to see if this Ferrari, with its US Commander-in Chief provenance, will bring that 30% premium, that the Auctions America believe it will.
