Politics: We are doing it wrong

Politics in the modern era has descended into a war of sound bites and Tweets. No longer are there deep philosophical arguments exploring ideas and direction. There is just short, sharp jabs and while they are entertaining they are not moving humanity forward.

Case in point, the Coronavirus

China was wrong to cover it up, clearly the system they have in place failed to alert anyone that matters in time of the scale of the outbreak. China did not want millions of people to suffer, hundreds of thousands to die and for their economy to be belted.

WHO were wrong when they played politics defending China and the travel bans because of the donations that flow from China to WHO. The existence of these International bodies like WHO, UN, IMF etc is void of necessity in a globalized world, Sovereign Nations have the ability to work together achieve more and not have the extra layer of costs and politics these organizations bring.

Trump is wrong “blaming” China for the outbreak, as a major trading partner of America Trump should have accepted it was never the intention of China to create this situation. America and China should be working together in a spirit of friendship and harmony in an effort to create a better world.

Joe Biden is wrong, just wrong at every level.

Pelosi is everything that is wrong with the Democrats.

We don’t like China because they are communists! you’re preaching to the converted, communism is the great evil of modern times, but as I am not Chinese, it’s not my business what they do, that is a matter for their own Citizens.

It is our business how we and our Governments interact with China, it is hard for us to take the moral high ground then bend over like a Pattaya Street whore the minute China flashes some cash.

We must make a return to having the goal of a peaceful and prosperous world that respects the Sovereignty of Nations. We must reject the sound byte politics and seek out depth of thought and dialogue in our political decision making.
