The Plaza NYC Teaches the Fundamentals of Western Etiquette
The Plaza launched a series of etiquette courses designed to teach the essentials of proper decorum in modern day business, social and dining affairs.
The courses were conceive by Myka Meier of Beaumont Etiquette, bringing to the United States a 1st-of-its-kind finishing school type program.
Each course will be taught by Ms. Meier, who was trained by a former member of The Royal Household of Her Majesty the Queen of England.
The courses are based on Western etiquette and touch on the fundamentals of American, British and European customs. A dual British-American citizen, Ms. Meier has attended a series of finishing schools in England and Switzerland.
2 programs are available with the new offerings, including The Plaza Proper Etiquette Evenings and The Plaza Weekend Finishing Program.
Limited to 20 students per class, The Plaza Proper Etiquette Evenings are held Wednesday evenings at The Plaza’s Palm Court, for adults aged 21 and above. Held over cocktails and canapés, the topic-specific classes are subject to availability and are offered on a 1st-come-first-serve basis.
As for the Plaza Weekend Finishing Program with Beaumont Etiquette, anyone from ages 18 and above are invited to participate in a weekend-long journey that explores 7 etiquette categories, from formal dining etiquette to subjects pertaining one’s style and deportment. The intensive course is the more hands-on of the 2, and features guest lecturers and even a certificate at the end.
Have a terrific weekend.
