The ‘O’Reilly Factor’ Ratings +20% on Back of Controversy

Bill O’Reilly’s ratings for his Fox News program are up 20% over the last week, including after the NY-T’s published a report about sexual harassment lawsuit settlements.

“The O’Reilly Factor” led all cable news programs Tuesday, averaging 628,000 adults ages 25 to 54, the targeted audience for cable news, and 3.76-M viewers, according to THR.

The viewership was up 20% over last Tuesday, and the figures for Monday’s program were also higher in the target group from the prior frame.

The NY-T “hit job” report was published online last Saturday, and Mr.  O’Reilly has hosted 2 programs since the disclosures that numerous sexual harassment claims had been settled, including some within the last year.

Some sensitive advertisers have pulled their commercials from the program in response. Bill O’Reilly has not addressed the report on his program.

In Q-1 of this year, Mr. O’Reilly averaged 728,000 adults 25 to 54 and 3.98-M viewers, according to the report.

The figures were Bill O’Reilly’s biggest ever, buoyed by its coverage of the Trump White House, THR said.

“The O’Reilly Factor” has been a leader for Fox News since it was launched in Y 1996.
