Obama’s FBI Used Fake Dossier for FISA Spy Warrant Vs Team Trump

A Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant used by the FBI to monitor President Donald Trump’s former campaign aide Carter Page could not have been obtained without the use of the disputed Steele dossier.

The information was revealed after President Trump agreed to declassify the GOP memo claiming an anti-Trump bias in the FBI and Justice Department.

Among the 4-page memo’s claims is a revelation that a FISA warrant would not have been obtained without the use of information contained in an unsubstantiated anti-Trump dossier financed in part by the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign.

Trump confirmed his decision to reporters at an Oval Office event.

“I think it’s terrible. I think it’s a disgrace what’s going on in this country,” President Trump said, repeating, “I think it’s a disgrace.”

“The memo was sent to Congress, it was declassified. Congress will do whatever they’re going to do,” he said.

LTN understands that a very senior law enforcement official at the FBI sought a surveillance warrant and told the committee, the House Intelligence Committee, it would not have been possible without the use of this dossier.

Plus, that the memo claims that the sourcing and financing of the dossier, written by British spy Christopher Steele, was not revealed to the FISA court, which approved the warrant used for surveillance of the aide, Carter Page.

Also, we understand the FBI and Department of Justice relied in part on media reporting to lend credibility to the fake dossier and the issue there is that the firm behind the dossier had been briefing reporters, at 6 American media outlets about the dossier prior.

Based on the information gathered, once Mr. Steele’s spy contact was cut off with the FBI over his connections with the media, he continued to funnel information to the FBI through Department of Justice contact Bruce Ohr.

The memo contains information that Mr. Ohr was demoted when the revelations came to light, and that his wife had worked for opposition research firm Fusion GPS, which was behind the dossier.

There is information in the memo indicating Mr. Steele had a “severe dislike” against Donald Trump and was working to make sure he would not be elected.

The focus for the memo is on the FISA application on Mr. Page, and included claims that then-FBI Director James Comey signed off on 3 applications on behalf of the FBI, as did Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who resigned under pressure from Director Christopher Wray; former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, whom President Trump fired last year, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Notably, the initial application in October 2016 for a surveillance warrant, or any of the subsequent renewals did not refer to the DNC, the Clinton campaign, or to any part of the funding behind Steele’s report.

The application also extensively cited a 3 September 2016 Yahoo! News article focusing on Mr. Page’s trip in July, 2016 to Moscow.

The article, by Michael Isikoff, details how US intelligence officials were seeking to learn if Mr. Page had opened private communications with senior Russian officials about lifting sanctions should Domald Trump be elected President

In the memo it is  noted that Mr. Steele admitted giving information to Yahoo! News.

“This article does not corroborate the Steele dossier, because it is derived from information leaked by Steele himself to Yahoo! News,” the memo notes.

The request for the FISA warrant does not note that Mr. Steele gave the information to Mr. Isikoff himself for the article, the memo says.

This is a major Hussein Obama era scandal and an extreme abuse of power.

Drain the Swamp Mr. President!
