Mueller Indictments All About Russia, President Trump Vindicated
Friday morning, the US Department of Justice’s announcement that 13 Russians are now under indicted in the US for election meddling shows Russia was trying to cause chaos in the United States, long before Donald Trump threw his hat in the ring and won the Oval Office.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein held an unusual press conference, during which he presented the facts of how Russia is alleged to have interfered in the US Presidential election.
The indictments were brought by the office of special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the DOJ’s Russia investigation.
“I think it would be naive to think this is the only thing the Russians were doing and consequently, my guess is that Mueller and his team are looking into other avenues,” said Former Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said.
“I am struck with the brazen nature of how the Russians will be so aggressive with so many people. I applaud the Department of Justice for bringing forward this indictment, I hope these people are prosecuted.
“I do think it dismantles the Democrats’ narrative that this was all about Trump. It’s all about the United States of America and sewing discord, and I think that’s the narrative that is miraculously portrayed here.”
Mr. Rosenstein said there is nothing in the indictment that indicates any American citizens were involved in the alleged information warfare campaign.
It charges 13 Russians and 3 Russian companies with meddling in the US election via several means, including stealing Americans’ identities and posing as politically active voters to stir up conversation on social media and organize rallies.
Have a terrific President’s Day weekend.
