Australian shares are expected to open lower Monday as the widespread closure of venues across the country offset new fiscal stimulus from the government to stem a coronavirus-induced slowdown.
New Zealand’s benchmark index dove more than 10% and was on course for its worst session ever after the country announced a move to enter lockdown over the next 48 hrs.
Indian shares were set for a sharp dive Monday, tracking global stocks, as increasing lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic threatened to bring world economies to a grinding halt.
