Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YOs in Training Sale Update

The build up to next month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YOs in Training Sale continued in Victoria today when a quality line up of juveniles went through their paces at Seymour.

The quickest time of the morning of 10.19 seconds was set by Lot 181, the Better Than Ready-Upper Notch colt from the draft of Baystone Farm.

That breeze continued an exciting start to the stud career of the Lyndhurst Stud Farm based first season sire Better Than Ready who has seen three members of his first crop at the official trials all win.

The second fastest 200 metre breeze came from Lot 111 – the Dundeel filly from Natural Selection who clocked 10.21 seconds.

The filly, presented by Capital Gain’s consignor Moffatt Breaking & Pre Training, is from a two time winning half sister to the Golden Slipper placed sire Zizou.

She will be out to emulate Darren Weir’s quality three-year-old filly Krone who was the fastest filly at the same session last year and is already a stakes winner for her Roll the Dice Racing connections.

Other youngsters to impress on the day were colts by Deep Field (Lot 40 in 10.28 secs), Uncle Mo (Lot 101 in 10.33 secs) and Mawingo (Lot 154 in 10.35 secs).

It was an extremely successful session with 24 of the 33 two-year-olds breaking 11 seconds on the all weather track which gives every horse the opportunity to gallop on a dry and even surface.

The action continues on Monday when the Gold Coast Turf Club hosts the third session of breeze-ups from 9.30am (AEST). As with all sessions of Magic Millions’ breeze-ups the work outs will be streamed live online.

New South Wales

Quick times were the order of the day as Sydney’s Warwick Farm pro-ride track hosted first breeze-up session leading into next month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YOs in Training Sale.
Today’s session saw 24 promising juveniles go through their paces on the all weather track in perfect weather conditions.

The fastest time of the day was posted by a Hinchinbrook gelding (Lot 79) that ran 9.81 seconds. Consigned by O’Gorman Racing Stables the Hinchinbrook two-year-old is from the four time winning Falkirk mare La Valeta. The BOBS eligible youngster is the mare’s first foal.

No fewer than 17 of the two-year-olds today ran sub-11 second breezes over the electronically timed 200 metre sectional.

Other youngsters to run quick times during the session included a Shamexpress gelding (Lot 16, 10.11 secs), a Choisir colt (Lot 166, 10.16 secs), an Arlington colt (Lot 171, 10.23 secs) and a Star Witness colt (Lot 176, 10.25 secs).

Attention now turns to Victoria with the Seymour Racing Club hosting the second session of breeze-ups from 9am (AEST) tomorrow. Some 36 two-year-olds are scheduled to breeze. This session will again be streamed live via the Magic Millions website.

The third session will take place at the Gold Coast Turf Club on Monday before the final session at the same venue on October 8, a day before the auction of all youngsters takes place at the Magic Millions Sales Complex on the Gold Coast.

Video footage of all breeze-ups conducted over the next three sessions will be available within the online catalogue by early next week.
