Larneuk, a small stud in rural Victoria has been producing some outstanding results over the last couple of years.
Resident Sires as well as horses raised on the farm have been performing exceptionally well, a Group 1 win and some very good runs in Group races are proving the quality of Larneuk progeny.
Larneuk veteran O’Lonhro has had an incredible run, not only has he won the prestigious Best Sire in Victoria under $10,000 award he is the Sire of rising star 3yo O’Tauto who finished 3rd in the Group 3 CS Hayes at Flemington and is a contender in the upcoming Guineas.
Another Guineas contender El Dorado Dreaming by Ilovethiscity was also bred at Larneuk. El Dorado Dreaming has already won the Group 1 Sires Produce and performed well at Group level.
O’Lonhro has produced some great horses like O’So Hazy, Mamzelle Tess,
O’Lonera and of course O’Tauto.
There’s a very good reason why Lonhro has over a dozen sons standing at stud. They work! O’Lonhro is working too and little wonder. A cracking individual who is renowned for throwing them to type, O’Lonhro was unbeaten in his two starts as a 3YO before capping his career at four with a victory in the time honoured Group Two Chelmsford Stakes (emulating his sire and beating home Group One Doncaster Handicap winner, Triple Honour), along with a second in the Group Two Warwick Stakes.
It’s a pretty good family as well … mum, Mamzelle Pedrille, was a Group Two winner in Sydney and is up close and personal with both Group One winner Diamond Drille and, wait for it, I Am Invincible (32 stakes winners). In this industry, it’s not always about what you know, but who your stallion is related to!
Larneuk’s 1st Season Sire sensation Cluster has made a name for himself becoming one of Australia’s leading Sires.
From 3 runners Cluster has produced 2 winners and 1 placed horse, the trials of unraced runners has added to the excitement surrounding this son of Fastnet Rock.
Cluster was lightning quick: finishing second in the Group Three San Domenico in his first run at three, he was a neck third in the Group Two Stutt Stakes and capped off his career with a brilliant victory in the Group Two Theo Marks Stakes. Better still, the acorn hasn’t fallen far from the tree as he is really ‘stamping’ his progeny, as evidenced by the first of his yearlings selling up to $72,000 at 2018 yearling sales – 12 times service fee.
Larneuk was established in 1980. The 200 acre property has a 120 mega litre dam for irrigation and a permanent creek.
Larneuk is situated 15km south-west of Euroa in the heart of Victoria’s Thoroughbred country.
Larneuk has all the facilities required to cater for broodmares and the healthy development of the growing Thoroughbred.
Larneuk has a proven record of producing winners and it is where the passion for racing begins.
