Lax US Immigration Policies Have Made Every State a Border State
Friday, US Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said loose immigration policies of the past have impacted every state, and not just those along the Mexican border.
Her comments came in a TV interview
“It is such a big deal,” she said. “The reason is because of loose immigration policies, every state is a border state and every town is a border town.”
Ms. Blackburn is running for the US Senate against Democrat Phil Bredesen.
She said Tennessee welcomes the policies of President Donald Trump.
“Tennessee appreciates Donald Trump,” Ms. Blackburn said. “So you hear a lot about the Supreme Court justices, keeping tax cuts, and jobs and the economy, keeping that going, the immigration issue…
And she added: “People want to make certain that we secure our border and we end sanctuary city policies.”
The winner of the Senate race will take the seat currently held by Sen. Bob Corker R-TN), who is retiring.
Republican and Democratic mouths in Tennessee are gaping, as Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn, considered the underdog in the race for the seat of retiring Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) is now leading Democratic former Governor Phil Bredesen, 73 anni, by a margin of 54 to 40% statewide, according to a just-completed New York Times/Siena Poll.
Should these figures hold up, Ms. Blackburn,a conservative and ally of President Trump will have dashed one of the Democrats’ biggest hopes for picking up Senate seats anywhere in Y 2018.
Mr. Bredesen is a multi-millionaire businessman and was a popular Governor from Y’s 2002-10. But many in the business community, Tennessee sources told us, decided to go with Ms. Blackburn because of her present standing in the House, she is Chairman of the House Energy Subcommittee on Communications and the Internet and her careful cultivation of the business leaders in Nashville.
Keeping America Great!
Have a terrific weekend
