Picturesque Larneuk has seen the 1st foal of the season born during wintry conditions in Victoria, Australia.
A stunning colt by Cluster from the Canny Lad mare Gourmet Garage who is a half to 2 listed winners out of a listed winner Gourmet Garage gas already produced 3 winners from 4 starters.
The resident Sire Cluster has made a strong debut in his 1st season at stud and it is expected that more of his progeny will be seen in the winners circle in the coming year.
A particularly good looking son of the champion stallion Fastnet Rock (well represented by 142 stakes winners with over $166 million in progeny earnings… and who has already had nine sons sire stakes winners), the Gr.2 winning Cluster has inherited his sire’s strength coupled nicely with the refinement of his dam sire Last Tycoon whose influence as a broodmare sire is considerable – 152 stakes winners and over $237 million in prize money.
Cluster was lightning quick: finishing second in the Group Three San Domenico in his first run at three, he was a neck third in the Group Two Stutt Stakes and capped off his career with a brilliant victory in the Group Two Theo Marks Stakes. Better still, the acorn hasn’t fallen far from the tree as he is really ‘stamping’ his progeny, as evidenced by the first of his yearlings selling up to $72,000 at 2018 yearling sales – 12 times service fee.
