Seventy-five Keeneland sales graduates and 43 horses that raced and/or trained here during Keeneland’s recent Fall Meet headline entries for the 35th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Churchill Downs Friday and Saturday.
Twelve of the 16 horses entered in Saturday’s $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) are Keeneland sales graduates. They include four-time Grade 1 winner Accelerate, the 5-2 morning-line favorite, and four-time English and Irish Group 1 winner Roaring Lion.
Through 2017, 99 graduates of Keeneland sales have won 107 Breeders’ Cup races. The winners of 47 Breeders’ Cup races made their final start before the event during the Fall Meet.

Red Mile welcomes racing fans to watch and wager on the Breeders’ Cup.
On Thursday, advance wagering will begin on the full Friday and Saturday Breeders’ Cup cards.
On Friday, a number of mutuel windows at Red Mile will open at 8 a.m. ET. Churchill’s program begins at 12:55 p.m. with four undercard races.
The Breeders’ Cup races that day are the Juvenile Turf Sprint (3:21 p.m.), Juvenile Fillies Turf (4 p.m.), Tito’s Handmade Vodka Juvenile Fillies (4:40 p.m.), Juvenile Turf (5:22 p.m.) and Sentient Jet Juvenile (6:05 p.m.).
