Ivanka Trump, “America is getting to know my Father.”
Donald Trump’s eldest daughter defends her father, lauding him for having revived and elevated the political discussion in America.
In an interview last Friday, Ivanka Trump, described as her father’s most influential adviser, said the country is just learning about “who he really is.”
“He has elevated, he has created a dialogue around issues, which really is a powerful thing,” she said. “When you think about leadership it’s setting the agenda, and he has set the agenda on all the issues that were discussed. And I think that is quite powerful.”
She admitted that the sharp criticism of her father is painful, but she insists it’s also “often wrong.”country, adviser,
“The positions are often taken by people who don’t know him,” she said. “But I’m pretty thick skinned.”
Ivanka Trump is E-VP of Development & Acquisitions at the Trump Organization, and also operates her own jewelry and accessories lines.
She credits her Father’s guidance.
“He is someone who has been an incredible parent for me,” she said. “An incredible mentor to me, as a parent, and also for the past decade having worked alongside him.”
“I’ve seen him as an executive inspire the team, set a vision, give people the freedom to reform but always watching them and ensuring the vision for the company is being carried out correctly,” she says. “It’s hard. I have been impressed by his leadership. I think his leadership is now being shown on a larger scale.”
And of her well-documented friendship with another child of famously political parents, Chelsea Clinton, Ivanka Trump says there’s no friction.
“We are not navigating the friendship,” she said. “We view ourselves as our own people. And that is separate from the politics.
