Inglis Classic Yearling Sale is Coming
The countdown is on to the sale that provided last year’s Golden Slipper quinella, with the final touches being put on Riverside Stables ahead of next month’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
A total of 800 horses have been catalogued for the fastest-growing sale in the southern hemisphere, which this year will double as the historic first sale at Riverside from February 10-13.
With the southern hemisphere sales season now underway, attention switches to south west Sydney for the opening of the $140m Riverside Stables precinct – including the luxury boutique The William Inglis Hotel – at the Classic Sale.
The largest Classic catalogue in Inglis history features progeny from 109 sires including Snitzel, I Am Invincible, Choisir, Exceed And Excel, Fastnet Rock, Written Tycoon, Hinchinbrook, Not A Single Doubt, Pierro, Savabeel, Sebring and Star Witness, as well as 21 First Season Sires such as Adelaide, Brazen Beau, Deep Field, Dissident, Hallowed Crown, Olympic Glory, Rubick, Shooting To Win, Toronado and Wandjina.
Included in the catalogue are relations to 63 Stakes winners including reigning Victoria Derby winner Ace High, superstar sprinter Brazen Beau, Spring carnival stars Setsuna and In Her Time and Group 1 winners such as Japonisme, Good Project and Amanpour.
There are also progeny of 60 Stakes-winning mares including Platelet, Heavenly Glow, Fill The Page, Irish Darling and Hidden Kisses.

Inglis’ National Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy described the quality of the 2018 Classic catalogue as “outstanding’’.
“This is a sale for everyone,’’ D’Arcy said.
“We will have yearlings from $10,000 through to $500,000. When you think that a total of $130,000 could have bought you Group 1 winners She Will Reign, Extreme Choice and Yankee Rose in the past three years it speaks volumes for the quality of yearlings being offered at every price level.
“The 2016 catalogue produced the Golden Slipper quinella in She Will Reign and Frolic but this year’s catalogue is as strong as I’ve ever seen and I’m sure buyers will find what they’re looking for on what is going to be a memorable four days at Riverside.’’
The Inglis Classic Yearling Sale begins at 6pm on Saturday February 10 and runs until Tuesday February 13.
All yearlings offered at the sale will be eligible for entry into the revamped $8million Inglis Race Series.
Pay-up to the race series will, among other things, see each yearling eligible for the inaugural $2million Inglis Millennium for 2YOs – as well as many other lucrative races – as part of the new annual Inglis Race Day at Warwick Farm, from February 2019.
The William Inglis Hotel opens for business this coming Monday, January 22.
