Holy Roman Emperor Continues to Build His Legacy

Holy Roman Emperor stole the show at Baden-Baden on Sunday when responsible for both Group winners on the card, including an unbeaten juvenile filly who looks a high-class prospect.

The Markus Klug-trained Rock My Love (2f Holy Roman Emperor-Rondinay, by Cadeaux Genereux), bred by Ralf Kredel,  made it three wins from three starts when making all in the G3 Preis der Winterkonigin to score by a comfortable three-quarters of a length.

The mile contest is widely regarded as the championship event for juvenile fillies in Germany.

It was a red-letter day for Holy Roman Emperor with three-year-old Navaro Girl (3f Holy Roman Emperor-Neele, by Peintre Celebre) capturing the G3 Baden-Wurttemberg-Trophy for trainer Peter Schiergen.

Racing for Stall Nizza, she was bred by Jurgen Imm.

Champion 2yo in France, winner of the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere in record time as well as the G1 Phoenix Stakes & G2 Railway Stakes.

He is Timeform’s highest rated 2yo ever by Danehill.

Out of a Secretariat mare, like Storm Cat, A.P. Indy, Gone West etc.

Sire of Sires

He is Timeform’s highest rated 2yo ever by Danehill.

Out of a Secretariat mare, like Storm Cat, A.P. Indy, Gone West etc.

Holy Roman Emperor is becoming a sire legend in Hong Kong having finished runner-up Champion Sire in the past two seasons after winning the title of Champion Sire in 2014.

The blue-blooded son of Danehill has made his mark with Group I winners all over the world, but in the melting pot of Hong Kong his offspring really seem to come to the fore and have included 2014 HK Horse of the Year Designs on Rome as well as a string of top class sprinters and milers including Beauty Only, who was crowned last week the Champion HK Miler of 2017.

The Hong Kong racing season finished at Sha Tin on Sunday with Holy Roman Emperor achieving outstanding success to be crowned champion sire by earnings.

The Hong Kong racing scene is all about colts, who frequently become geldings, and to succeed in this challenging environment a horse needs a good constitution and the right mental attitude.

Shortcomings in either area are going to make it very hard for a horse to succeed and in a racing centre where longevity and the ability to front up season after season is prized by owners, qualities such as soundness and trainability are the keys to success.

Now his Talented Son Honorius is about to go to Stud in Australia for the very 1st time.

Honorius will stand at for Knightsbridge in Australia in 2017 and in the Northern Hemisphere in 2018.

Honorius is a 7 year old stallion with an impeccable pedigree and strong racing credentials.

He is by proven sire in both hemispheres, HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR, sire of ten individual Group 1 winners in seven different countries.

HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR is the sire of 61 stakes winners worldwide including Caulfield Cup and Dual Derby winner MONGOLIAN KHAN, Hong Kong superstar DESIGNS ON ROME, international sprinter RICH TAPESTRY, Thousand Guineas winners HOMECOMING QUEEN (UK) and ROLLOUT THECARPET (NZ).

Honorius is out of Irish mare, Zarinia, also dam of South African Champion and Horse of the Year, IGUGU, winner of four Group 1 events and ten races in all.

Like his sire, Honorius was a dual winning 2 year old. Later in his 2 year old season, he demolished his rivals by almost 3 lengths when taking out the Listed Juvenile Stayers Stakes at Rosehill over 1800m.

A versatile and genuine racehorse winning from 1400m – 2000m, Honorius proved himself to be a sound and durable racehorse, racing successfully from the age of two through to seven years. His achievements include:

Winning the Group 3 Craven Plate at Randwick over 2000m
2nd in the Gr.3 Gloaming Stakes to IT’S A DUNDEEL (DUNDEEL) over 1800m
2nd in the Gr.3 Norman Robinson to HVASSTAN over 2000m.
2nd in the Gr.3 Frank Packer Plate over 2000m.
2nd in the Gr.3 Kingston Town over 2000m.

3rd in the Listed MING DYNASTY over 1400m.
5th in the Gr.1 Epsom to HE’S YOUR MAN and ROYAL DESCENT over 1600m by only 1.8 lengths.

Honorius is ready to commence his new career at stud for Knightsbridge Bloodstock.
