Crude  Oil prices edged lower Wednesday after the IMF lowered its global growth forecasts but prices were supported as Hurricane Michael moved toward north Florida, causing the shutdown of 40% of US Gulf of Mexico Crude Oil output.

ICE Brent Crude Oil futures were down 21c to $84.79 bbl by 0434 GMT.

NYMEX WTI Crude Oil was down 34c, or 0.5 to $74.62 bbl.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) downgraded its global economic growth forecasts for Ys 2018 and 2019 Tuesday, raising concerns that demand for Crude Oil products may decline too.

Crude Oil producers evacuated personnel from 75 platforms as Hurricane Michael made its way through the central Gulf on the way to landfall Wednesday on the Florida Panhandle.

The country’s largest privately owned Crude Oil terminal, the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port LLC, said late Tuesday it had halted operations at its marine terminal.

Iran’s Crude Oil exports fell further in the 1st week of October, according to tanker data and an industry source, as buyers sought alternatives ahead of US sanctions that take effect on 4 November.
