Gold: Gold prices are flat to little changed Monday with investors looking to a G-20 Summit this week for signs of a coming resolution in the US – China trade dispute.

  •  Spot gold was little changed at $1,222.36 oz at 0114 GMT.
  • US gold futures (GCcv1) were flat at $1,223.30 oz.

Energy: Crude Oil prices steadied Monday after plunging 7,7% Friday, but remain under pressure with Brent crude below $60 bbl on weak fundamentals.

  • Front-month ICE Brent Crude Oil futures (LCOc1) were at $59.23 bbl at 0202 GMT, + 43c, or 0.7%, from their last close.
  • NYMEX WTI Crude Oil futures (CLc1) , + 11c, or 0.2%, at $50.53 bbl.
  • China’s Shanghai Crude Oil futures Monday (ISCcv1) fell 5%, or lock limit down

Friday’s selloff has been dubbed ‘Black Friday’ to Friday’s falls in Brent and WTI Crude Oils

There is capitulation in Crude Oil markets, the Southside pressure comes from surging supply and a slowdown in demand growth which is expected to result in a supply overhang in Y 2019.

USD: USD up Vs its 6 major peers Monday, as investors sought shelter in safe-haven currencies.

Stocks: Asian shares on a slide as falling Crude Oil prices fueled concerns about a softening outlook for the global economy.

Officials from some G-20 countries, anxious to see a end to the US-China trade dispute, are hopeful that a meeting between Presidents Trump and Xi on the sidelines of a G-20 Summit in Argentina may yield positive results. The 2-day Summit ends on 1 December

Friday, China urged the World Trade Organization (WTO) to close loopholes and correct practices by some member states that damage global trade, warning of a “profound crisis” facing the institution’s existence.
