Gold Coast, Australia: A Great Place to Race
Where ever you are in the World the possibility of enjoying the Sport of Kings on Australia’s Gold Coast is an attractive proposition.
The Gold Coast’s star attraction of course is its beaches, including the world-renowned stretch of sand at Surfers Paradise. Beyond the beaches, discover laid-back neighbourhoods, a booming culinary scene and the Gold Coast’s famous theme parks. And don’t miss a trip into the subtropical hinterland for rainforest walks and waterfalls, but the racing is not to be ignored.
Racing on the Gold Coast dates back to the 1890’s when an occasional public meeting was run in the old cane paddocks of Bundall, not far from the present Gold Coast Turf Club.
Hosting approximately 60 race meetings each season, the Gold Coast Turf Club is also home to several highly anticipated major events. The largest event is the Magic Millions Raceday held in January each year as part of the Magic Millions Carnival & Yearling Sale held over 10 days on the Gold Coast.
Other featured events include the prestigious Melbourne Cup Raceday, Gold Coast Cup, Gold Coast Stakes/Goldmarket and Pink Ribbon Cup Raceday.
The Gold Coast Turf Club has become one of the most sought after function venues on the Gold Coast. Both Raceday and non-raceday functions are held throughout the year in a number of unique venues including the Winners Circle, Dome, Paradise Room, Board Room, Corporate Suites and the all new Gold Coast Event Centre, our major feature events throughout the year are booked out months prior to the day!
Members and the public have the choice of over a dozen separate bars, restaurants, cafes and bistros. Friendly faces, changing activities and events, a great ambience and the sensational 180 degree views in both members and public lounges will ensure the day’s experience becomes the best social outing you can have.
So… whether with your partner, family, friends, social or sporting club, make a date for a day at the track to soak up a truly exciting and glorious atmosphere.

Who to Race with on the Gold Coast
Two generations of one of Australia’s great racing families has returned to training at the Gold Coast with the proud formation of a training partnership between Bryan and Daniel Guy.
The father and son duo learned their craft under the tutelage of patriarch, the late great Sydney trainer Ray Guy, before taking their acquired skills to the Gold Coast with great success.
The Gold Coast has everything an owner would want for their racehorse, a great climate, outstanding facilities and the course hosts a meeting every week while remaining in close proximity to Brisbane or the rich northern NSW racing circuit.
Bryan and Daniel Guy know what it takes to produce a winner from the Gold Coast, winning trainers’ premierships at the venue and in Brisbane with an average of more than 65 victories per season for the last decade.
Enjoy the website and don’t hesitate to contact them to discuss joining Bryan and Daniel Guy to enjoy the thrill of leading in a winning thoroughbred.
