This year, the beauty pageant was held under the motto “The Symphony of Engines – 90 Years of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and BMW Automobiles”.
It only emerged late Sunday evening that the majestic Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B from the year 1937 had secured a straight 1-2 victory.
The automobile received the impressive newly designed Trofeo BMW Group as the award for “Best of Show” and the legendary trophy named Coppa D’Oro to the rapturous sounds of applause during the glittering grand finale.
The latter trophy is awarded by a vote in a Public Referendum and passed on to the next winner each year.
At the Concorso di Motociclette held in parallel, the Jury of experts bestowed the Trofeo BMW Group on the Koehler-Escoffier built in 1929 as “Best of Show”.

For the 6th time in succession, an automobile made in Italy has won theworld’s most illustrious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
Collector David Sydorick (USA) entered the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B for the contest.
The automobile was bodied by Touring in Milan and it has now been restored to the highest standards. After the public had honored the car with bestowal of the traditional Coppa d’Oro, the decision of the international Jury followed on Sunday to secure the certainty of a double victory for the exceptionally sporty, luxury Alfa Romeo by conferring the title “Best of Show”.

For the 9th year in succession: Historic Motorcycles fascinate the audienceThe Concorso di Motociclette celebrated its premiere in 2010. It has now been established as a fixed diary date among motorcycle collectors and the contest is now a permanent element of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
This year, a Koehler-Escoffier (1929) and a BMW R 68 (1953) earned the two winner’s trophies that are awarded by the Jury and in a Public Referendum.
A look back in time: The surprising new edition of the lost BMW Garmisch impresses experts and the public Grand master of design Marcello Gandini took the opportunity to be present in person at this premiere.
On Friday evening, the BMW Group presented the BMW Garmisch as the manifestation of an exceptionally exciting project. This masterpiece of design disappeared without trace shortly after the premiere. Although the vehicle has not been rediscovered in the meantime, it has now been recreated 49 years after it was originally produced.
