Free Health Care and Education is Not Socialism

This is a common discussion point when I talk to anyone about US Politics, I see nothing more valuable to a nation than a healthy well educated population.

I do not see the provision of Health Care and Education to the Citizenry as Socialism but as part as an ongoing development of a Capitalist Society. I also feel that our failure to do so is in part fueling the socioeconomic, racial and political divides within the country.

The quality of Education and Health Care in the poor areas of the USA is creating poverty, crime and social division. If you think you can assign any group of people within your own community to hardship you are wrong, they will and are rising up against you, complete idiots like Bernie Sanders, AOC and Joe Biden actually have supporters, and they have them because they are choosing not to be cast off by society. If you disadvantage enough people you could face a future where one of the aforementioned morons becomes President.

The investment in these 2 areas should take priority well ahead of Foreign Aid the funding of International bodies like the UN, IMF and World Bank.

Capitalism is an economic system. In it the government plays a secondary role. People and companies make most of the decisions, and own most of the property. … The means of production are largely or entirely privately owned (by individuals or companies) and operated for profit, but that’s not what I am seeing, everywhere you look the Government is there, messing it up.

The idea of providing services that improve the life of the people who helped build the economy is the very basis of Capitalism, paying massive taxes to to an enormous useless Government is the basis of Socialism.

I have heard all the counter arguments, I don’t want to pay for someone else’s kids or lifestyle choices etc etc, but you are actually not, you are paying for the Health and Education of your fellow Citizens which has to be more valuable to you than sending money off to all sorts of countries that you have no vested interest in!

What is in your interest is ending the cycle of poverty, homelessness and crime in your own backyard. Improving the quality of life in your community for you and future generations.

I am not talking about funding sex-changes, abortions or elective surgery and not paying for degrees in gender studies and the other drivel of various varieties in the Leftwing Academia world.

I am talking about people not being frightened to go to the doctor, people not dying because they can not afford medical care or medication, teaching people valuable employable skills and removing barriers to self employment. How is that not in the interests of a true Capitalist.
