Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) ‘Portofino’ Wows the Crowds at Frankfurt
Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) is wowing the crowds at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with 2 versions of its California T replacement, the Portofino.
1 is painted in the new Rosso Portofino inspired by the lovely Italian village on the Italian Riviera from where the car received its name.
The other is liveried in a matte Grigio Alluminio Opaco as a connection to the lightweight metal used for the convertible’s construction.
In Red or or Matte Aluminum , the Portofino is great looking, as brings several design changes over the Cal-T.
From the front, it appears considerably sharper thanks to the wider headlights more in line with those of the other Ferraris.
The modifications give it a fastback line when the roof is up.
The engine is a bi-turbo V8 3.9-liter 600 hp(441 kW) or 40 hp (30 kW) more than the Cal-T, and an extra 5 Nm (4 lb-ft) of torque for of 760 Nm (560 lb-ft).
This power with the lighter all-new chassis, and the Portofino delivers better performance: 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 3.5 secs and a top speed of 199 mph (320 kph), making it a 1/10th sec quicker in the sprint and with a 3 mph (5 kph) higher max speed.
Ferrari is also showcasing a GTC4 Lusso in Blu America, along with a 812 Superfast finished in a 3X-layer Gray, and a 488 GTB featuring its Rosso F1 finish.
These are joined by a Special 488 Spider exhibited in the Tailor Made showcase with a livery taking inspiration from the 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spyder designed by Pininfarina.
