Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) A Long Lost 250 GTO s/n 4105 Found in Parts?
Coys Auction House (London) has found a complete set of parts for perhaps a new Series 1 Ferrari 250 GTO, following the discovery 4 weeks ago of container-loads of Ferrari Supercar parts, just days before the auction of those parts is due to take place at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, UK.
The parts include the chassis frame of 1962 Ferrari 250 s/n 4105GT, original Ferrari Tipo 128S V12 engine, a tubular GTO steel frame, bodywork sections, wheels, cooling, suspension and braking components, plus dials and gauges.
This Ferrari treasure found at the same undisclosed South of England location as the supercar parts trove, though in a different container, and a ways away from the original discovery. They belonged to a well-known Ferrari collector who passed away several years ago.
Expect a savvy Ferrari collector to buy this treasure, send it to Ferrari Classiche at Maranello for assembly/completion and actually have a virtually brand new Series 1 250 GTO.
We will soon know what the Ferrari archivists have to say about this amazing ‘Barn Find”
The Big Q; Is s/n 4105GT to be the 1st $100-M car?
